| MY FAVORITE ROMANCE 'KEEPERS'Okay… here are my favorite Romance Novels of all time… the ones that are my own personal 'Keepers'… the ones I would never part with and I re-read ad nauseum whenever the mood strikes me. Your own personal list will probably be different from mine because Keepers are as individual as fingerprints… but generally they tend to be well-written stories with terrific characters that any fellow Romance Addict would enjoy reading… Here are my Keepers: (and they're not in any particular order):
Everything about this story is HOT from the sweltering Louisiana setting to the passion between rich girl Schyler Crandall and her foe, blue collar Cash Boudreaux. The back-story and action are gripping and this is a fast-paced read. Sandra Brown is one of my all-time favorite writers. She always delivers quality work.
I love love love this story! Good girl Julie Mathison gets kidnapped by escaped convict Zach Benedict and he holds her prisoner in a remote cabin in the middle of nowhere. I'm sure your imagination can take it from there! But the story itself has a lot of unexpected twists and turns; and the sparks between Julie and Zack sizzle off the page. Judith McNaught is another favorite author of mine whose many books are always to be highly recommended.
This one is a guilty pleasure of mine. Bad boy and ex con, Johnny Harris returns to the small town that framed him for murder to try to clear his name… and also to get the woman he's secretly loved for years, prim and proper teacher, Rachel Grant who, of course, doesn't think of him in that way. But the 'murderer' strikes again and all eyes turn to Johnny once more. This is a riveting story that'll have you guessing until the end about the identity of the 'murderer' while at the same time have you enjoying the hunt and chase between Johnny and Rachel. This story is hot!!!
What more is there to say about Pride & Prejudice? Uptight Darcy gets put in his place by headstrong Elizabeth Bennett and we enjoy every minute of it! Loaded with charm, Regency manners and true love. Swoon…
Another headstrong heroine, Jane Eyre, captures the heart of blustering, arrogant Mr. Rochester and the banter between the two is fun to read. And what's stored in the attic turns out to be more than old clothes and discarded junk. This one is a treasure and of course, true love once again wins out in the end… as it always should!!
This book is from the Harlequin Presents Series of novels. Harlequin stories sometimes get a bad rap for being trashy… but some of them are quite good and well written. And as a Romance Novel Addict, I'm sometimes in the mood for a short novel that I can read in one night… hence a Harlequin! As a fellow Romance Addict, I know you understand. This story has heroine Kate keeping a dark secret about her past from her boss Van Fitzgerald who happens to be madly in love with her… but she doesn't love him… not yet anyway. Alison Fraser tends to write very strong women characters with lots of great dialogue peppered throughout her stories. A very good writer…
What can I say? I wrote it and honestly... I love it! And so far, those are my top Keepers. If I find any more Romance Novels in the future that I feel are worthy of the honor of being called a 'Keeper', I'll post them here!!! |
